A Career Built From the Ground Up
Josh didn't walk into painting — he earned it. It started early, helping family and friends, picking up a spray can as an active graffiti artist. But he was self-aware enough to recognize where that path could lead, and deliberate enough to redirect it. He took what he'd built — a genuine eye for color, line, and composition — and turned it into something legitimate. Commissioned murals. Gallery showings. First Fridays in downtown Phoenix.
Fifteen years ago he made the move into professional painting. He started at the bottom — as a helper — and worked through every level of the trade: apprentice, journeyman, spray man, lead, foreman. That progression wasn't handed to him. It reflects how quickly he absorbed the technical side of the craft on top of the artistic foundation he already had.
Two years ago he took the next step and went out on his own. He earned his CR-34 Dual Contractors License — covering both commercial and residential painting — and started Blankie Painting Co. He runs and operates it single-handedly, which means when you hire Blankie Painting, you get Josh. Not a crew he's never worked with. Not a subcontractor. The person whose name is on the license and whose reputation is on the line with every project.
